This is the other image for the Casa Chic magazine Christmas issue in which our home is featured. It is an Italian issue; so to read it, I think it is only available in a digital format.
As I said yesterday, I decorate for the holidays slowly, and start earlier because life is busy. The process seems more purposeful and meaningful when I take the time to select the objects and it does not need to be done all at once.
Today is day 2 of decorating for Christmas and my tip is something simple.
Shapes from nature that hint of the season are a wonderful start. It could be a rock or collected pinecones or whatever one imagines. I chose this shell in its natural colors. It's shaped like a tree and hints of the season, yet looks unremarkable considering we still have Thanksgiving ahead.
On the shelves of the bookcase, a snow globe has been tucked in and a Madonna. Green is a neutral in our home and it seems noticeable at the Christmas season approaches.
Thank you for visiting.

Christmas already ? Your cottage, ahh- so beautiful and charming as always be it in or out of it's holiday dressings. Sweet to have your amazing cozy abode featured for more to see.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Tonita. I try to blend the seasons and put some things out so it gradually becomes Christmas. I've found if I wait, I feel pressed for time. So I making a little series documenting the process this year. xoxo Su
DeleteI enjoy decorating with nature and it is added in just about all my decorating.
ReplyDeleteIt's so wonderful. Isn't it. And usually free. xoxo Su
DeleteThat's a very cute idea about the seashell: It DOES look like a little tree! I'm going all in for Thanksgiving since the kids are coming home. I might have a small hint of Christmas, I haven't decided yet.
ReplyDeleteThat's neat, yes you should... I still have three pumpkins...
