Many years have passed since the publication of Alice in Wonderland, but why is Alice, and the Madhatter, and other characters still so endearing? What might Lewis Carroll have observed about humans and society?
Perhaps, he believed in the possible of the impossible.

He show us the darkness and the light.
Each new day we have a chance to create or create ourselves over again.
And in the fullness of rituals, traditions, and parties (even though the Mad Hatter seemed tired of them because they kept repeating), celebrations add vibrancy to our rather ordinary days.
Afternoon tea anyone?
"Everything's got a moral if you can only find it." Lewis Carroll
He seemed to believe people can change, sometimes in the course of day and there are numerous examples in the two books.

There was an outdoor party and an indoor party.
Everyone had their own special personalized meal.
Kitty had chicken, but we didn't tell chicken.
Lu loves the little chicken.
They talk to one another.
Kitty purrs.
Chicken clucks.
The poodles had a little of everything except chicken's food.
(Maddy learned that she should not eat it.)
Look at how these four get along!!!
Our little Lu, the cat, adopted at 15, is probably 20 years old.
Little red poodle is difficult to see in this photo, because he hid behind the white poodle. He is 16 years old and blind.
Our little chicken Scout is lame and lives in the house.
And Maddy, an almost six year old toy white poodle remains very active.
All appreciated. All loved.
The young, the old, the weak, and the different.

Thank you for visiting our tea party.
If you are on Instagram, I made a movie of our party.
So far, there is a trailer up. (reel)
And, two reels part 1 and part 2. (reels)
But alas, the movie I planned and made is delayed with my technical difficulties!
However, I do have a clip without the music.
It is after the pets finished their meals.
But the 3 reels are mini movies and they really capture the spirit of the party. If you are on Instagram take a look!!! The dynamics between them are really captivating.
As per usual, I really tried to do too much with too little time!
Party, Photos, Trailer, Reels, Movie!

Thank you for visiting, Victoria. Yes, I agree. xoxo Su
DeleteHow charming! I love that your pets were guests for your party. I also appreciate the quotes and links. OK so you have piqued my interest in your IG posts. I recently added a new account (long story) but so far I'm inactive. I will pay a visit to IG after church this afternoon and watch. :D
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ricki! It has been raining so much! I love it! The party had to be done indoors. Lucky, I pulled off the first half. It rained all day. It hardly ever does that!!! The videos really do it justice. The lighting was not the best, so rainy and dark. Like evening. xoxo Su
DeleteHi Su,
ReplyDeleteThe quotes are great along with you sharing the links. I love that your sweet animal family members were all invited to the party. I will have to check out your IG. Happy Sunday have a great week ahead. xoxo
Thank you so much, Kris, for visiting. These Mad Tea parties have always been so much fun! It has been so rainy and dark here, but I love it! It hardly ever rains here! So the party had to move in doors, but the guests were all so well mannered. The videos really do it justice. I even have to make a fourth because the after party is so cute. Poodle asleep, the cat cleaning her paws, and so on. xoxo Su

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the quotes and your sweet sharing. I love that you had a party for all the family members. Hugs to Scout.

Thank you, Carla. It was really fun to play. They all loved the meals. I swear they know it is Christmas and Thanksgiving. They also love Saturday night, because there is always popcorn. So all the party plans were changed, because it rained and rained. (I love the rain!) So dark inside the house!!! I think it turned out better. xoox Su.

ReplyDeleteI'm late to the party! It's been such a busy Summer, I have been away from blogging. What a whimsical post, Su. I absolutely LOVE all of the photos, and quotes that go with them. Your pets are quite amazing, each and every one. I am so happy that you've come back to the blogging world! You put a smile on my face this morning, my friend. xo
