Make a shrine. This one has a wreath, some topiaries, and a small fresh bouquet.

      Thank you so much, dear. I've been busy, and then I had a medical procedure, elective, but necessary. My garden is really blooming this week, and the roses are looking so beautiful. Unfortunately, rain has been negligible this rainy season (we have two), and warmer than usual all winter, so I am afraid it will peak before June this year. I will share some photos of it soon. xoxo Su

    Very pretty. I am still getting a few roses although most of them have been pruned back, a few remain and these are the loveliest roses of the year.

    I have long favored 18th century cherry furniture and the Williamsburg "look" and thought I could never feel comfortable with or in a room with predominantly white or off-white furniture but have you ever proved me wrong. I still love cherry wood and Queen Anne but what you do with white in all its shades is amazing. Everything is so clean yet welcoming and cozy. You truly have a gift. I have followed your blog for a while but do not think I have ever commented before. Today's photos are so exquisite, I could not stay silent any longer. Your roses are magnificent and are the beautiful, wide open ones I love so very much. I have always had too much shade to grow roses but admire anyone who can. I also love peonies as some remind me of antique roses. After my divorce I actually bought a little house because it had peony bushes all around, an oak-leaf hydrangea, a wisteria (which never bloomed for me) and one exquisite rose bush with creamy white roses tinged pink on the edges. The home was nice too but the garden sold me. I am in an apartment now and more than anything, miss having a garden, even if I had to plant things that liked the shade. Thank you for the joy your blog posts bring me. The single bloom in the cup is so exquisite that it almost made me dry with its beauty. Thanks also for showing me that it does not have to be cherry-wood or Queen Anne to be truly lovely. I also love your shrine and that it is right out for all to see. I found a lovely cobalt blue-colored glass Crucifix at the local thrift shop and have it hanging with framed photos of my children. I have a few angel and Mary statues but they do not get noticed as the Crucifix does. You are so inspiring!

Queen Anne furniture has such lovely lines and curves, my Aunt had that in her home and some black Hitchcock, so I am somewhat familiar with the style. I love to garden, so I empathize with missing a garden, because it does bring so much joy. Peonies and hydrangeas are so beautiful, but neither grow here, but my spouse's grandfather, I call him mine, grew hydrangeas, gladiolas, and chrysanthemums for competition, besides many other things, and he gave me the gift of loving gardens. Thank you. I love seeing a statue of a saint in the home and garden, and it brings peace to see those reminders. Your Crucifix and display sounds beautiful, some of the best things that I've found have been in thrift and second hand shops. Thank you so much. Your words brought joy to my day. xoxo Su

    My weather is different from yours at this time of year but I do have lemons cut up in a pitcher of water to drink from :)

    Oh so many great ideas. I always have some flowers, roses, etc blooming, but never seem to cut them and make arrangements, only in Spring and Summer. Shame on me.

    We have such nice warm weather, I think SO CA forgot all about winter. LOL
