I've been spring cleaning and purging. I also have curtains to rehang, because I washed them, but I decided to rearrange my porch console mantel on the sleeping porch.
I have not finished, but I took photos. The colors really make me happy. I really love the little shepherdess or shepherd. I also like to use ordinary bottles for vases, because I think they are pretty.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Cindy. I played around with it a bit, and then left it, and I still have to hang the curtains back up! xoxo Su

ReplyDeletexoxo,
Vera
Thank you, Vera. It is unseasonably warm, and I dreaming of Italy. This time, I placed a crown on his head and clipped a bird on, which I thought look sweet in his sleeping state. I always enjoy how the colors come together on that porch, because the lighting is nice. Have a wonderful weekend. xoxo Su

DeleteYour spring mantel feels ready for Easter Su, and can't wait to see the changes it will take all the way up to that day Easter morning.
ReplyDeleteLove that you use bottles as bud vases, and it's nice to see your butterfly wreath has been added into this mantel vignette.
Happy spring In the days to come.
Grace upon grace.

ReplyDeleteKris
Thank you, Kris. Have a wonderful weekend. xoxo Su
DeleteHow fun. I love the look of the water bottles as vases and it is nice that you left the labels on. My sister is a dragonfly collector and I am thinking a wreath could be easily made with dragonflies as well. Thanks for including the link to the tutorial.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lorri. Definitely. It would work. I actually love dragonflies and a Zuni legend about them, but my daughter is unfortunately afraid of them. :( xoxo Su
DeleteI will have to see if I can find the Zuni legend. My sister started getting visits from dragonflies after my brother's death from ALS. She is convinced that they they are him. I believe it is a comfort to her and also to other family members.
DeleteSo cute, I love it and your beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
Susanna
Thank you, Susanna. Have a wonderful weekend. xoxo Su
DeleteI feel so enchanted by your Easter mantel, sweetest Su, it's truly stunning, I'd love so much to find a statue similar to yours but I've never seen something like that in Italy, alas !
ReplyDeleteWith much gratitude for sharing this Beauty,
I wish you a most wonderful weekend ever,
sending you love and dear hugs
Dany
Thank you, Dany. I found the statue in a shop that sells "French" decor.
DeleteHowever, my nativity pieces are Italian design, and a couple found in Italy because it is this company... Fontinini You know what I love about Italy... the roadside shrines with the gorgeous statutes in them. xoxo Su
Very pretty! Love the figurine, the book, the flowers, the green glass. It's all lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joanie. xoxo Su
DeleteSo lovely. You have such a French look to your place, and you do it so well.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sarah. I really enjoy home. Have a wonderful weekend. xoxo Su
DeleteHi Su, your spring mantel is lovely and filled with cottage charm with a French style. You are so very talented my friend. Have a nice weekend. xo
ReplyDeleteThank you, CM. Have a wonderful weekend. xoxo Su
DeleteYour sleeping sheperd boy is so sweet and reflects of Eastertide. xo
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kerrie. I really love that statue, and I agree: Eastertide. I added the crown, and the little bird for whimsy. I sometimes think she is a shepherdess, because she looks like my 5 years old niece, but sometimes I think it is a little shepherd: any little boy. Other times, I think it is a like a painting and a foreshadowing of either the Christ child or a infant John the Baptiste. You probably can tell, I like art. :) xoxo Su
DeleteHi Su, wow, you created such a beautiful, unique spring mantel! I also love the shepherd figurine. It looks like it is antique and coming from a church or is it a reproduction piece?
ReplyDeleteWishing you a lovely rest of the weekend!
Christina
Thank you, Christina. It is a reproduction. xoxo Su
DeleteEverything looks beautiful and serene, and I also love the colors.
ReplyDeleteWhat I especially love is the idea of a sleeping porch.
How wonderful!
Laura
WSP
Thank you, Laura. It's an old house, and it has a porch on the back that was used for that before everyone had swap coolers and eventually central AC. xoxo Su
DeleteYour mantle is perfection!!! I truly love every thing about it!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jen, for the sweet compliment. I really appreciate your visit. Have a wonderful week ahead. xoox Su

DeleteWhat a pretty Spring mantel...been working on mine but cant see to get it right! It hard to believe what your March garden looks like...I've just started to see buds and the only greens are wild onions and poppy leaves coming up!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cathy. I know. It's amazing. I am a little concerned about the tomatoes. It has been to warm for them to take off, and my peach tree didn't have enough time to bloom this year. The el Nino gave us a strange weather pattern. xoxo Su
DeleteYour spring mantel is stunning and very elegant. The statue is gorgeous
