Welcome December

Wow! December! We had family in town over Thanksgiving, and we did mostly family things.  On the other hand, I found time to do some shopping on Etsy and in some local small business.
These pretty presents are handmade soaps from Soap des Jour, and they smell delicious. I plan to give them for gifts, but for now they look pretty on the library's mantel.

And being big fans of rabbits and Alice in Wonderland,
we love crowns. I found this handmade beauty at
Dore's  in her Etsy shop Burlapluxe.

The dove was also made by Dore. I've shown it before, but sparkling letters are now underneath.

This small painting was painted by Kerrie. It has the perfect soft seawashed shades for my kitchen.
It came from Kerrie's blog Sea Cottage and her Etsy shop Seawashed Living.

I should of wrapped the treasures, but they are so pretty that I rather enjoy them now.

I hope your holiday was wonderful.

Su

We have all been sick here with colds or flu since November 20, but we are on the mend. I just need to stop coughing at night, so I can sleep better. xoxo Su

    1. It's my favorite time of the year too, BJ. I still need to get some amaryllis. I passed because when I went to buy them the signs said, "all bulbs 1/2 off". I got to the counter, and the woman said, "but not these". Haha I am not sure why they put them under the sign "all bulbs..." xoxo Su

    1. Etsy is so much fun! I once found a handmade Alice dress for my daughter's American Girl doll, Julie. Julie is the one that looks most like my daughter, so we never bought one of the ones that you try to customize. xoxo Su

  10. I feel so honored to be included here in good company with your etsy features welcoming December.
As always I enjoy the sweetness in your home home. The antlers are really Nordic fun, yet having the tips glittered add sparkle through the holidays into the New year celebration, so clever to dress them up.
I am looking forward to your tree going up and all decorated fittingly for your cottage home.
As for the pile of soaps, we have a MASTER soap maker here....She would love me saying this about her, she raises goats and makes a creamy non comenogentic soap all natural and from her goats milk cream. I do the same as you Su, I will stack them up in there wrapped beauty and admire the authentic pure and good in giving homemade. Your soaps will go over big when recieved and they will be loved.

    See you soon,
And thank you for loving my art

    Xx
A beautifully inspiring December to you.

  12. I love all of the little bunnies that peek out of your photos. It is really adorable. It is so good of you to support these handmade shops and feature them on your blog. I have a few homemade projects planned this month but otherwise it has been a commercialized Christmas shopping experience.

    1. Thank you, Stacy. Before my daughter was a teen, our Christmas was more commercial. But now she loves vintage things, handmade items, old books, and collectibles of older Petshops. Consequently, second hand stores, Etsy, and EBay have become sources. xoox Su

  14. Hello Su I love when a new post of yours magically appears. Me too AIW fan and I adore all your touches you place in your charming bungalow I absolutely adore. Oh those soaps ... Amazing how something so necessary can bring joy and a delightful scent to make our day special. Your selections as gifts all look so pretty.
I also purchase much from Doré who is a master at soulful unique art. I too have several paintings I purchased from Kerrie that I find an emotional beauty in her work. I don't know what I would do if etsy closed their site, such amazing artisans to be found selling their art.
I'm looking forward to seeing all your Christmas imagination will create to grace your home and family.
    xoxo,
    Vera

    1. Thank you, Vera. I agree. I love Etsy, and over the years, I've found wonderful handmade vintage items as well. The soap scents are wonderful. I think the peach is my favorite at the moment, but my nieces will just love these soaps. I recall that you are a collector of Dore's art, but I didn't know you had some of Kerrie's pieces as well! I'm keeping Dore's and Kerrie's pieces, but decided not to wrap them. I want to enjoy them now... I know you love AIW as much as we do, and I look forward to your laundry room reveal. I hope this December brings you lots of joy. xoxo Su

  23. Truly this is such a lovely surprise. I had no idea it was you Su, who purchased this tiny sea painting. It makes me so happy to know that it belongs to you. You have displayed it just as I intended while painting them...raw, natural, on a shelf bringing a wash of the sea to your Bungalow. Thank you for sharing, otherwise I would have never known. xo Kerrie
