Early Holiday Touches

This dove was purchased from Dore's etsy shop at Burlap Luxe.

Oh, and I tried to make snowball ornaments from stuff I purchased at the dollar store, but I just kept burning my fingers, so there is only two, actually only one and no tutorial.
These are simple "Nordic" inspired touches.

    1. I should of looked for my daughter's curling iron glove. I can't remember if it has open fingers or not, but it might of been better than nothing. Glue just goes through feathers. xoxo Su

  2. Oh I am so wanting to get going on holiday decor as well, I love the sweet silver foiled tree, really have been considering something silver this year.
And to see that dove joyed my heart that it has made an appearance in your early start of holiday decorating :)

I am looking forward to more I. The days and weekends to come, your angel feather snow ball is a wonderful start to your winter theme. And darn those hot glue guns, I know those burns or so well.
I hope you come up with a way to make more with less glue burns. They really add to your soft look!

    See you soon.

    1. Dear Dore, My daughter spotted the silver tree several years ago in a vintage shop, and we both loved it. The tinsel is a bit oxidized in places and turned gold or dark., but it has a charming patina up close., and your dove looks beautiful with what I already have. xoxo Su

  4. Well, I love your snowball...:)
I am trying to hold myself back from pulling all my Christmas decos out...we are having about 18 to 20 for Thanksgiving dinner and I want it to LOOK like Thanksgiving. I generally start decorating for Christmas a day or two after T'giving.
    Your holiday touches look amazing.

    1. Hi, BJ. Sweet.
Two of my sisters, one with a young daughter, are coming in for Thanksgiving, so I want it to look like Christmas, so I am starting earlier. I still have my small pumpkins out too.

  10. Dear Su looks like your Christmas will be beautiful in your bungalow. Love the Angel Santos as I love each and every one of your Santos. I too own a tinsel tree (mine is small) and I love yours. Snowball looks amazing Su. Ok I'll share my hot glue gun story. Last year I was looking at my lady skeleton and said to myself - HMMM she needs a tutu. So off I went to purchase 2 yards of Black tulle which I cut and layered and then one by one burnt every finger with my hot glue gun attaching my layers of tulle on lady skeleton Halloween tutu. A few days later still feeling the burn on my finger tips one of my friends said to me "Hey why didn't you use cold glue, they make it for the hot gun and it works just as well"! Who knew???
I see more gorgeous snowballs in your Christmas future with using the cold glue.
    Loving your early Christmas décor.
    xoxo,
    Vera

    1. My daughter found this tinsel tree with a pretty patina in a vintage shop a few years ago. It has been such a lovely piece to look at each year. Oh, those poor fingers, and I feel your pain through the screen! I had no idea they make cold glue for the glue gun! I'm going to have to look for that, because this hot glue gun is not the best crafting tool for me or especially my daughter's fingers. I know how to make tutu without glue; I will have to make one someday to show here, because I have not made one in years. My daughter use to love to dress as AIW and her second choice was often fairy. xoxo Su

    1. Thank you, Stephanie, for your sweet visit. It really was sort of funny. I woke up the next morning and saw the mess on the island, and started laughing. It look like we lost a bird, and then I went to look outside at my spouse's project, and laughed even more. I should of took photos, because we had two pinterest fails here. xoox Su

    1. Thank you, Alessandra. I found a place to get some, but someone suggested using cold glue tubes in the glue gun. It might be like tacky glue. That would be easier. xoxo Su
