These photos were taken by my daughter.
We welcome the cooler autumn days, because once again our winter garden begins to come to life.
Abundant rose blossoms...
For selecting and gathering...
Some spill over the bed's sides...
This one is so dainty and ruffled like a tutu...
White seems to glow as the sunsets...
This one seems to wave...
As the sun settles...
and evening calls...

And a month or two ago, I started sharing to Instagram...

DeleteSu I find the whole idea of being able to have a winter garden captivating. But of course living in Philadelphia our winter is cold and snowy. Your roses are gorgeous and your daughter captured the roses essence like a professional photographer. A young woman with many talents. I truly enjoyed the beauty in this post.

Your autumn garden is much more colorful than mine! Lots of brown over here! ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos by your daughter and enjoyable presentation. Love roses but not able to grow them because the wild deer eat them ... so I really appreciate other people's roses. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAudrey Z. @ Timeless Treasures
Thank you, Audrey. Deer are so pretty. xoxo Su

ReplyDeleteKris
Thank you, Kris. In the summer, it's too hot to bloom, but this time of year through May or so is a great time for roses. xoxo Su
DeleteLovely photos, such a wealth of roses!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sarah. The roses return when the intense heat subsides. xoxo Su

DeleteSu, I live in Northwest Michigan so the idea of being able to have a "winter garden" sounds dreamy. What do you grow in your winter garden? The photos your daughter captured are just beautiful, I love all of them but the wavy rose was my favorite. My roses are always prettiest in the evening, it must be that beautiful light! Believe it or not, I still have several rose bushes in bloom this late in the season, which NEVER happens here, so it is just a gift! My delicate pink long stemmed roses were done blooming by July, but the hardier shrubs are still putting on a wonderful show! Have a beautiful week! Teri
ReplyDeleteHi, Teri. We grow lettuce, tomatoes, basil, mint, chives, rosemary, and lavender. I have grown broccoli in the winter, but they take a lot of space. xoxo Su
DeleteBeautiful roses and you sure have a lot more going on in your garden then I do. In IL the fall is in swing so most is gone but a few stragglers left.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cathy. xoxo Su
DeleteHello Su,
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish I could have such a pretty winter garden but NJ winters are too harsh for such delicate flowers. Your roses are magnificent and full of romance. Do enjoy all their loveliness.
Janet
Thank you, Janet. In the summer it is difficult to grow anything, so its nice for the heat to subside. xoxo Su
Deleteso gorgeous

ReplyDeleteThank you, Cindy. It is wonderful! I hope to not have to use the AC soon. My house still gets warm in the day, though not today. During the night it finally drops below 70. xoxo Su
DeleteSo sweet Su, that your daughter was apart of this beautiful post :)
ReplyDeleteLove winter gardens, they seem to have a different should about themselves.
Looking forward to the holidays with you here and all that you inspire.
Xx
Dore
Thank you, Dore. Well we have had the good fortune to be away the last two summers, but it is sure a delight to have a garden to tend in October, because the summer as you know yourself, is too harsh for nonnative plants and they must be covered for several months. It is has been especially pretty this autumn, because we keep getting the rain... Wish I could send some your way, though we always need it here too, but it has been more than usual. It rained again today. I look forward to your decor as well. xoxo Su
DeleteI love roses and yours are beautiful. Wonderful captures by your daughter.
