A Touch of Whimsy

Some photos that we took, but never posted.

In the crown of the campaign bed we placed some faux birds, my daughter use to have pet birds, but cats and roadrunners have too much interest in them.

a touch of whimsy...

I had a little accident with my hand, and two of my fingers are in  a splint, because I shut the car door on three of them at the home improvement store. The door completely shut on them, and I couldn't open the door with my right hand to free them. I was screaming in the parking lot, just after  wondering why someone was screaming there the other day.  :) My spouse got back in the car and had to push the door open. They checked the  x-rays more than once, because the doctors couldn't believe the fingers were not broke. I have tiny hands, so it's in a kid-size splint. They look terrible, and throb, but I'm managing.  My daughter exclaimed ( after showing sympathy), "oh no! no computer! or projects"  I typed this with one hand.
So I might get behind on visiting or responding. xoox

  13. Oh dear Lord! I know exactly how that feels. My brother closed the car door on my hand when I was 19. It was my 1962 mustang so a huge door. I screamed too until he opened the door to free my hand. I am glad to hear that you have tiny hands...I bet that is why no bones broke. Try to rest so they will heal faster. Rest really does so much for healing. Bless you xo

  22. Hope your fingers heal quickly and that you find some blessings in the resting time. I recently fell on my head after slipping on the ice and got a concussion. The downtime was frustrating - no internet, no tv and no reading! Yet I learned so much in that time. I had time to look deeply at the world around me. Hope you find some consolation.

Your photographs are lovely! They touched my heart. What a nice thing to see this morning!

  31. Oh, I have missed out on so many beautiful things on your blog. Your garden has really come in nicely, and you've added such lovely details. This canopy is also wonderful, and makes me miss the old wrought iron canopy bed I had as a teenager.

The story about your fingers in the car door made me cringe, but I'm glad you're relatively ok! I have big hands for being a woman and would probably break all fingers had the same happened to me. I wish you a speedy recovery.
