Silverbush

Silver Bushes

The silver bushes are blooming, and
Clara wanted to get in on the photo shoot, because this is her cozy spot between the bushes and the old cactus.

The silver bushes have delicate, papery white flowers with gray, green leaves.

The silver bush, also called Morning Glory, is a plant that needs little water.
These are small examples, but they can grow as large as 3 x 3, though I've seen them large along the freeways.
The blossoms have yellow suns in the center.

It's a perennial, and it's a white flower that does well in the desert.

  1. I like your garden statue, I have one similar, I believe it is St.Francis of Assisi, Your silver bushes with the white flowers are pretty too.

    1. She is so different. She came to ask to play with her best friend, our toy poodle. She runs around the yard with him, and she even cleans up after him. We have two other kitties, but she will have nothing to do with them. ♡

    1. Thank you, Anne. Clara is so funny. Today my daughter was out there playing and taking photos of the other two kitties, the ones that Clara doesn't like, but she made an exception for attention.

  5. Love the garden. So different that in Ohio. Very pretty. Thanks for commenting on my post. It was a rough day. Things are quiet now, just waiting to hear when the services are. My son is doing okay. We are spending a lot of extra time with him. HUGS

    1. Thank you, Stacy. It is. There really are not many white flowering, garden plants here. I have a couple of cactus that will bloom once with a white flower, but other than that I can come up with only three white ones that will tolerate the heat and the low water.

    1. It really is a pretty white flower. If you are looking for white, white lantana doesn't take a lot of water, but it doesn't grow as big and can look a bit woody, but it looks good in a courtyard.♡

  9. I loved your observation about Clara's preference for interacting with your wee dog (and ignoring your cats). They each have their own magical personality, I also have a love for St. Francis in the garden-I would love to have met him; and of course the silver bushes-I will see if they will live happily on Vancouver Island. I always look forward to your blog, daily. Thank you.
