Valentine Table Setting

It's just a simple table setting for a sleeping porch, and
we used what we had around the home to create this party.

Vintage china is paired with the kitchen's clear Ikea plates and Ikea utensils.
This shell is my favorite shade of blue,
and it was a Christmas gift from my daughter.

We made the wire hearts, and the heart straws add just enough whimsy.

The spiral stemmed glasses were a thrift store find during Christmas shopping: all
ten for 1.50! All the store's proceeds go to animal rescue.

One of my favorite artists is Chagall, and the book I have on Chagall
is on a stand opened to a passionate embrace of a bride and groom.

The table is set for young ladies.

This is our seven-year old toy poodle.  I tried to take a clear photo, so he could show off his bow tie, but he kept moving.

On the chalk board is a quote from St. Francis of Assisi.
Thank you, Mr. Level, for making this vision become ours.

  1. Beautiful quote . . . amazing shell . . . gorgeous table setting.

I decided I don't like the table setting I chose for our dinner party so I am heading to the thrift shops this afternoon for a mix/match grouping of dishes. I can't use a tablecloth because the purpose of the dinner is to thank a friend for helping Steve make our new tabletop and one of the couples has not seen the table yet.

Obviously my life is pretty easy if how I set the table is my biggest issue!

    1. Thank you, Brenda. He has a puppy cut, and it makes him look masculine. :) I couldn't get him to stay still, so I could photograph his bow tie. :) I didn't give his name, but it is Frances.

    2. How hilarious. I tried to say how he was looking masculine, and then I spelled it with the girl's spelling!

    1. Thank you, Judy. I just love that I found those second hand. It was complete except for tea cups and saucers. There was only one. :( It was still too pretty to pass up, because it was so inexpensive.

    1. We made four or five, but they are all hanging on my daughter's steal door held by magnets. I didn't want to touch her arrangement.

Someone was doing Valentine's day table settings, and now, I have to research who it was so, I can link. XOXO
