Painting the Walls Part 1

My daughter chose a new paint color for her walls in her vintage styled Alice in Wonderland Room.

The room looks like it receives more light now, and that makes her happy!
The name of the paint chip caused trepidation.  This paint color, it Sherwin Williams' SW Snowbound, is on the sleeping porch, but it looks white there! It's the paint she wanted.
But in this room, it is a light gray! It looks so pretty with her Swedish Gustavian style bed.

The linens are almost the same, and we used what we had.  We reversed the blue comforter to show the petite floral print and switched the quilt to this vintage one with blue grays  and roses.

She rotated some of her accessories from her aqua cupboard that houses all her treasures.
Most of her treasures she has bought second hand except for the clock and candle.
She received a new pair of curtains, because the previous ones didn't go anymore; the former ones were actually lace trimmed Ralph Lauren sheets.  The baskets have always been handy to store paperbacks.
Someone local crafted the fiber optic tree lamp, unfortunately he or she doesn't put their name on the product.

We both worked on the "magical" banner; it's a word she picked for inspiration.

It was her creative idea to use one of the candelabras
for her scarfs and the vintage hats she collects..
The paint is a subtle change, but with impact.
Paint can be changed, but since
my spouse did the work, he told her she would need to make it work for two years:)
She loves it, and it is prettier.

Love the contrast...

The pages of one of an AIW book that fell apart hang around the perimeter of the room. There are a couple of quilts placed on top of the armoire
with a toile remnant that she found, and it was her idea to stack it with the blankets!!! There is a dressing area too, but it is to be completed.

    1. Thank you, Sarah. We had the old quilt. We found it at a vintage store. I wonder why people part with them. No family? No room? Doesn't have sentimental value?

  4. Her room is so beautiful! I love her armoire in the corner and what a cool desk for her computer! Very well done! And let me tell you, I am dying to repaint my daughter's room. She had to have pink and now she wants purple and I prefer a cream color.

  8. This looks absolutely gorgeous! So much paint flying around eh ;) I have to say, I liked the before colour too, but this brings so much lightness and brightness. And how cute is she sitting like that on the stool! Like a little pixie!

    1. Thank you, Jennifer. That's cute that you mentioned she looked like a pixie. I almost posted one of her when she was young wearing wings sitting on a ball (a clear movement chair) at her worktable. Because this photo reminded me of that one.

    1. Thank you, Susan. She is. She is sensitive and has beautiful taste in clothing and loves vintage things. We were looking for gloves to keep her hands warm before she plays the piano in a competition. We eventually found some at Sears. It's central Arizona! We went into this girl store called "Justice" and she had to leave because it made her dizzy, she said it was "color vomit".
