Bowl Obsession

I have an obsession with bowls.
The colorful bowls are happy.  It is sort of silly, but the colors and patterns tell me that someone had a lot of fun designing them.  The bowls in the back of the shelf are about fifteen years old, and the pieces in the front are from WE and Anthropologie.

These tea cups and saucers were from a second hand store where all the proceeds go to animal rescue.  They were only four dollars for four cups and four saucers.  They are ironstone and made in England.
I also LOVE blue and white.

My daughter gave me the white pitcher.

Since I only collect what I love, it seems to work.

This is our one glass cabinet with a glass knob.
When I was young, my parents had an old home with a butler's pantry. Its white cabinets with glass inserts and crystal door knobs were so pretty that I've always wanted that look.
Do you have a kitchen must have?

    1. Thank you, Anne. I know what you mean. I've really learned to cut down with a small home, but it doesn't take much. Does it?! xoxo

    1. Thank you, Dana. This is a tiny kitchen, but I made sure I had one display cabinet, because I don't have a china cabinet. xoxo I looked up your pattern. If it is blue, my mom had that pattern!

  6. I have a dish obsession, so I totally get it! You are right, grouping what you love does work...beautifully! My grandparents had a butler's pantry with glass doors and all the dishes were stored there. I put a few glass cabinets in my own kitchen, as I always loved the look, but only a few...I need a couple of cabinets to hide my mess! ;)

  7. Wow! Your last photo is scrumptious!!!

Let's see... kitchen must have? For hubby to f-i-n-i-s-h building my kitchen cupboards! And perhaps after that, I would love to have a set of French Café au lait bowls & I'm looking for an antique (or reproduction) French cooling rack. And a wire basket... and so on.

Have a happy one and enjoy a cuppa in one of your pretty mugs!

  8. I always go through the dish sections at homeware stores and look so forward to having my own kitchen and being able to buy tons of pretty bowls and cups and plates, all mismatched and whimsical! Yours are so beautiful and I love the way they're displayed!

  10. I spotted several bowls from Anthro that I have coveted, but never felt I could justify buying.

Two must haves that I hope happen some day in Steve's kitchen are either open shelving or glass doors on the cabinets.

    1. The few pieces that I have from Anthro were on clearance. I don't think I've ever paid more than 5 or 6 dollars for a bowl or a cup with a saucer. I would feel bad if I broke a 14 dollar one!

You have such beautiful choice in color that I think a glass door or shelving would be beautiful. ♡

  11. I have a number of bowls, and sets of them, even one set that was a shower gift over 40 years ago. It's nice to see you have a collection of them too, they're always handy to have.
Although I have a big kitchen, it was designed poorly and I didn't have much counter space so with the help of one of our daughters, we did some minor renovations several years ago and now I have all the room I want to bake.

    1. Thank you, Judith. xoxo When I use to have a big kitchen, I noticed after I used it awhile that it was not the best layout. I guess sometimes with bigger kitchens that the designers do not plan as efficiently.
