Whimsy Week

Hi! It is Sara! This year we are doing something a bit different here! We will have a word for every week, and this week's theme word is "whimsy".

A Week of Whimsy

Definition of Whimsy From Yahoo's Dictionary: a quaint or fanciful quality.

Blue, gray, green, colors of the sea. A whimsy color scheme... Out of a dream...

Kiwi Green: life, earth, fresh.

Robin's Egg Blue: sky, air, ocean.

Paris Gray: rainy days, warm tea, rest.

I want to tell all the moms out there that it's nice to get a special treat at the end of the week.  (Moderation of course!)
These gluten-free macaroons arrived wrapped in a package tied with a bow.
There was a rainbow of seven, but not all made it to the photograph!

  1. I love the word whimsy. I associate that word with happy, carefree and full of life. I think we all need a touch of whimsy in our day.

  2. love the word "whimsy" . . . love a home decorated with whimsy . . . love the idea of a word a week.

I have never tried macaroons like those. I see them at Whole Foods, but I am trying to avoid any sweets until our ski trip this week. Skiing in tight ski pants is not comfortable.

    1. Thank you, Art and Sand.

There is a little bakery in town that specializes in them. My spouse usually gets her a gluten-free cupcake on Friday at another specialty bakery, but the last two times all they had was chocolate. She doesn't like chocolate!

I don't worry about giving them to her because she dances 4 days a week from an hour and half to two and half hours and she hikes with me probably three or four days a week. She is a lucky child.

    1. Thank you, Roxie. We love the SMEG! It's so cute and quiet and doesn't use a lot of energy. It is retro size. It is about as tall as I am... about 5 feet, but it is deep. It worked perfectly in this old house, because we could not completely remove a wall due to plumbing.

I also looked at Big Chill, but all their models were several inches too big for this kitchen. Northstar also makes a retro refrigerator, but it comes from Canada, so they couldn't tell us how long.
