Make a Curtain From a Sheet

This was my kitchen after the tear out.  On the left beneath the window
is a console that we used to hold a skillet before we had a stove.

I wanted to use that piece of furniture again.
I painted the top of the console, and then my spouse attached a drapery rod, so I could attach a curtain that I made from a sheet.  I did not sew it; I folded it, and I attached rings.

I'm not going to show you what is underneath the curtain just yet, but this furniture is on the porch that we have been working on.  I will take a better photo when the room nears completion.

  2. Love it! I'm planning on doing something similar to a counter my husband keeps saying he is going to put in our laundry area. We have one of the laundry carts with four laundry bags that will go underneath and it will be a good way for me to hide it.

  4. I'm not a gray person, although two of my favorite fall outfits involve gray sweaters, but I love the shades of gray in your new room. Can't wait to see it finished.

    1. Thank you, Art and Sand. I chose it, because it is neutral, but primarily due to the giant armoire. Even though I like white rooms, I didn't want an all white room. Gray is neutral, so it will be easy to change accessories: green, red, yellow, pink, turquoise, purple, etcetera. I probably forgot a color! It will be versatile.

  5. Lovely, it's so pretty! It's rare here to find a patterned sheet, mostly they are just blank colours.

  6. Looks great! I have had a little of "sheet curtains" in my time. And why not, often you get a better deal on sheets.

    1. Thank you, Donna. It was inexpensive! Because the sheet is folded, it makes a thick curtain. I didn't find what I was looking for in a curtain.

  8. Oh, I love the pattern on sheet you used to make a curtain. That porch is going to be gorgeous... And your kitchen then reminds me of mine!
