A Painted Concrete Block Wall

Painting is going slow on the sleeping porch.

This is one of the concrete block walls.  It was brown, but we tested various colors on it and decided to keep it SW Snowbound like the rest of the walls.

In the meantime, we ran out of paint and were waiting for a coupon, which came today.

All the nooks and crannies make it take longer.  Since this is an interior wall, I am used regular paint instead of concrete paint.  Concrete paint can be tinted; I've done that before with SW paint, but concrete paint is a little bit more money.  But since I am only covering an off white, I don't think it will take that much paint.

  1. I can't wait to see what you do with a white wall calling out for embellishment.

  5. What kind of paint did you use? I want to paint the concrete in my mechanical room - can you just use any kind?

    Happy Sunday!

    1. Hi, Anne. I asked the paint person at the paint store. I just used interior latex paint in satin, but I primed it first, so I could use less paint, because it is porous. They do sell concrete paint (Sherwin-williams) that can be tinted and I used that on the floors. I suppose I could have used concrete paint on the walls too, but it is a little more money. The wall and the air have no moisture issue.

  6. Oh, bummer that you ran out of paint. But good timing on the coupon!

The white is going to make your sun porch really fresh and bright. And you'll be able to accessorize it with any colours you want - even change up the colour scheme when the mood hits :-)

    1. Thank you, Magali. My spouse put some semi-gloss white on the ceiling corner today, and now I am thinking the ceiling needs to be high gloss white. That means I need an exterior paint tinted. Well, at least that is what I am thinking today.

    1. Thank you, Linden Townhouse. Me too. It's going so slow. This weekend it might reach 117, so nothing is going to get done.
