Fruit Salad

I really like this Breville toaster oven, and I rarely use the microwave now.
But it is so warm, that cold meals are better.

Fresh Produce:  I like to keep the apples, bananas, and citrus accessible.

But the fruit salad I made was made with refrigerated fruits.  We mixed fresh, chopped mango, watermelon, pineapple, and strawberries with

Greek yogurt.
Easy.

  1. It is warm here as well and we have been eating cold meals as well. My children love it when the fruit comes into season, like strawberries. :)

Glad to hear about the Breville toaster oven, I think mine will need replacing soon and I don't have a microwave anymore.

    Cheers!

    1. I'm sorry it is still cold. I don't know where you live, but once I went to British Columbia in the summer. Although, it was very beautiful, it was so cold and wet that I will never go back.

On the Breville, I bought the medium size one, but all the extra pans Williams Sonoma sells fit the largest one. They mistakenly sold my spouse stuff twice now, but they took it back.

  4. Lovely salad - pls send some heat this way :)) First we have had an extraordinary cold spring , now we are hammered with loads of rain. But upside it is green and fresh outside, but some sun to get away the greyish skincolor would be greatly appreciated ! Looks like you are enjoying summer and the good life with the sleeping porch renovation - it is about to become a great space for you and your family.

  5. Is that a vintage refrigerator I see in your kitchen? It looks like the one my mother had with the rounded corners. I just the love the look of it! And the shot taken from the kitchen on to the rest of the house is so warm and welcoming. Charming metal stool beside the butcher block island. Thanks for sharing about the Breville toaster oven! Their products are topnotch so I know you love this for sure!

    1. Thank you for asking. It's a new refrigerator that looks vintage. It's made by SMEG an Italian company.

We just finished the kitchen and went without a microwave, because we heard this toaster oven was better for a small kitchen. It is, and it is much less than the expensive built in (that broke at least three times) that we had in a previous home.

  6. It's so weird to read it's too hot where you live to eat anything else that fresh fruits! This morning, it's 40°F in Brittany, I don't know where spring has gone! In the second picture, your house looks amazing. I especially love how the floor links the rooms together.

    1. Thank you, Magali. It's cement with an epoxy.

I hope it warms up soon for you! That's cold!

This weekend it is suppose to be cooler, a mere mid 90s so I'm happy! We haven't really seen hot yet, only low hundreds! (But I can't stand it when it is more than 104F.) It gets to be 110 F plus in June, July, and August. I know it is out of your range, though I admit I would freeze at 40. My bones cannot even move at that temperature. Seriously. My hips lock and my child giggles, she thinks I'm being silly.
